i think i may have found the most helpful thing on the internet. a grocery list!
it's from a site called "workingmom.com". i know a large majority of my readers don't fall into the "out of home" working mom, but ALL moms, all women, work. so, this could be useful for all of us.
maybe you already make out your shopping list in categories. i know a mom who wrote it all out as she thought of it, then RE-wrote it so it was in categories. but, this little tool could help her elminate that 2nd step.
for me, it helped trigger my memory about some of the things i need that i'd forgotten about (b/c i'm not so clever or organized as to write down the things i'll need on a running list, But i have a reasonably clear mental picture of everything that's in my cupboards and fridge).
plus, it prints everything out with little boxes to check mark as you go along. AND it gives you extra space to fill in what's not on their list. PLUS you can add your TO DO list, and misc. note to yourself. how cool is that?!
so here's the link: (tell me if it puts a smile on your face too!)

i'll be putting it in my sidebar on the blog, so that i can access it during lunch or in a rare free moments @ work. yay! now, if only i can remember to USE it.
love, your nerdy friend

i thought it was nice that the junk food category was called "snacks" :)
I'm going to check this site out. I might not leave the house as much, but I still feel like a working mom. When I write out my list, I start from the top, with one end of the store, to the bottom being the check out line. For instance, shampoo might be first, diapers in the middle, and grapes at the end. I also start my list many days before I go, that way I can add to it as I run out of things. Love , your dorkiest friend ever!!!
Will have to check this out...but wonder how well it will coincide with what is actually stocked in Jumbo and La Sirena. HA!
quick update: I chedked out the shopping list and then went to the Home page. It does look very interesting. Heading out to Richmond, but plan to read the site more later.
Did you by any chance send the info to Shan?
love you!
I love how they have grits as a "staple". gross! Us Northerners don't eat grits.
