25 Random Things About Me (tagged by Shan 1/21)

This is a repost from my facebook. I put in the effort so thought it might as well go to good use.

1.I am sliding down the hill of my mid-twenties.
2.I am 72 inches tall.
3.I have a tattooed wedding band. And NO, I do not have an additional "real" band (as if my inked skin isn't real enough for you).
3.My (real) daughter was born in Guatemala and is my polar opposite in almost everyway, except for her love of water and peas. I love her incalculably.
4.I am a perfectionist, but lazy. This is difficult.
5.I was allowed my pacifier until AFTER I was three. So was my husband. I had to have major dental work, he did not. I am inclined to let my daughter have her pacifier until… she is fully potty trained. (This is a recent and random decision, so it seems appropriate. Perhaps I should consult my husband before setting it in stone…)
6.My favorite thing about myself is my hair, and, though you can't tell by looking, I feel very protective of it. I think my feelings toward it are something like Sampson might've had for his. Hopefully David isn't a Delilah.
7.I have great expectations, but, since they are often not met, I am pessimistic.
8.Really, I am quite shy, and I'd rather not talk to you at all.
9.But, I want you to like me. *sigh, ugh* Still, I really don't care what you think.
10."You'd be surprised how many ways I change on different colored days" My Many Colored Days by Dr. Seuss
11.I have been outside of the USA four times, once to the Dominican Republic and three times to Guatemala. It was just enough to whet my appetite and make me long for more of anywhere but here.
12.I am a home-town girl and I like it, a lot. I don't think I'd mind if I never moved.
13.The house I live in is 160 years old. That's, like, almost 7x my age! Crazy.
14.I'm afraid I really am a blonde.
15.I'm a sucker for a good ink pen. That's why I write.
16.I didn't truly learn to type until after I graduated from high school. My education was accelerated by my obsession with IMing David (mmhm, those were the days…).
17.I dislike snakes and spiders and laundry and grime (that residue in your sink or bathtub, wet hairs, bits of unidentifiable food) and grit on the floor that sticks to my feet or socks (like cat litter- AARGH!) and the bodily fluids of animals. All the forementioned things can potentially make me FLIP OUT. Oh, and wet shoe-laces. Eegh.
18.I like my job. I'm an office nurse 3 days a week. It could be better, but it could be a Heck of a lot worse. It's an environment that's a little more controllable and predictable than my home @ present, so that's makes it a nice little break.
19.I can shoot a surprisingly consistent free-throw while balancing a 22lb toddler on my left hip. Additionally I can rebound and do a bit of a lay-up. (If for some reason you are unaware, this terminology is relating my basketball skilz.)
20.I do not own a cell phone and don't anticipate having one anytime soon. This means I am one of those people who will ask to borrow yours in an "emergency". I am also embarrassingly inefficient @ texting. It would take me 5 min to type "hi, its me". Cell phones make me feel age-ed.
21.I don't have cable or bunny ears, but we make up for it by paying for high speed internet and netflix. Therefore, I don't keep up with the news if it's not in msn.com's headliners. I enjoy this form of deprivation.
22.I reaaally like and need sleep. You do NOT want to interrupt my precious zzz's or mess with me when I'm sleep deprived. Unless you enjoy that kind of risk taking or are just too ignorant to know what's good for you.
23.The Nilsen family bequeathed me the title of "badger" and I have been busy ever since trying to live up to the statutes of this noble moniker.
24.This is only the tip of the iceberg. Make like the Titantic, but do better and avoid ramming into it.

whoops. looks like i have two 3's. ah well. it's WAY past bedtime and according to 22 i could be endangering the rest of the human race if i spend the time going back and renumbering (wouldn't've had to number them @ all if cut-n-paste woulda worked). you can live with two 3's. truly. you'll be fine.

This was fun to read. I feel like I know you a little better now. I can relate to 8 and 9--that's me too!
