How do your pumpkins grow?

Once upon a time,

in May,

a David planted a seed,

a pumpkin seed.

He watered the seed,

and he watched the sun

shine on the seed.

And, one day

in June,

the seed sprouted!

This made the David very happy.

The David continued

watering the sprout,

and watching the sun shine on the sprout,

and hoeing out the weeds,

so that they could not bother the little sprout.

Sometimes, another little sprout would help...

Then, one day,

in July,

the sprout

(that was no longer a sprout

but a big, green plant)

Bloomed!

Beautiful, big, yellow flowers!

The David,

who now considered himself

a sucessful gardener,

was very proud and happy.

One day,

while the gardener was away,

a little garden fairy dropped in,

to see how the big green plant was growing.

She decided that it pleased her very much,

and bestowed upon the golden flowers

a very special kiss,

so that they would,

one day,

turn into big, round, orange
