okay people.

i know. i've been reallly lax about keeping this interesting. i spend waay too much time on FB lately. (thanks Shan! *smirk*)
[agh! why did it sound like a giant cat just hacked up a hairball right outside my window? staying up late alone on xmas eve is creepy...]

so, it's christmas eve and i'm awake [waiting on Santa- maybe that hairball hacking sound was him! yikes!] and a little ADD @ the moment, but i'm taking a shot @ updating.
yosi is really truly excited about christmas. she has been anticipating opening presents for DAYS... but has been remarkably obedient and never snuck off with one to tear off the wrapping. i think it helped that she's been allowed to open a couple here and there. the first one was from mana nilsen, who made her a lovely pink "blanket" (a quilt) for her bed. she sincerely thought it was the greatest. then, on the night of the christmas party, she got special DORA pjs from auntie cheryl. she thought those were pretty special too and was excited to finally get to wear them tonite.
[just realized "cat hacking" sound is ice melting and sliding in sheets off roofs. :'{ ]
i want to talk about yosi, but i'm not sure i can without sounding a bit gloaty. i think she's brilliant- but i seriously feel i can take very little credit. she has a extrordinary imagination and she talks like a pre-schooler- which she'll be sooner than later i guess...*gulp* i still think she's just a toddler. she's not a big girl yet- at least, most days that's what she'd say. still no serious interest in using the toilet. she likes being mommy's little baby. i've realized that that time may quickly be drawing to a close so i'm trying to savor every moment (in between trying to deal with her 2 year old ways). caffeine helps. [i suppose sleep would too- but i've been told it's over-rated...].

today david brought home a third printer box from work and made a three room house in the playroom. it is awesome. she was tickled with it, but she was really Thrilled when i offered to bring her snacks to eat in her playhouse. check out this picture of her face. i didn't even catch her @ the zenith of her happiness! sooo cute [it's not even fair- no wonder she's spoiled!].

yosi has several Dora the Explorer books and we've read those often. and she has Alot of dora themed toys. we tried to show her dora vids before she was even a year old, but we gave up b/c she didn't really seem interested [duh! she wasn't even 1!]. when abby cadabby got her attention, we went with it. i love sesame street too. a couple of days ago i discovered that seasons 1&2 of Dora the Explorer are available for instant view on netflix, so i thought i'd give myself a break from elmo, and try dora for a change. whoa! instant popularity. she was glued to the screen like a magnet. if it weren't so darn cute i would've been a little worried. the second episode about a lost baby bluebird really got her attention, and she was dead set on watching that again today. we were a smidge late to dinner @ cheryl's b/c we had to see it all the way through. even beloved elmo has not appreciated such a committed audience from her! vamanos dora!
okay kids. it's officially 1+ o'clock now. the rain [not snow :{ ] has started. fire truck siren's are blaring my "GO TO BED" alarm.
sweet dreams. buenas noches. feliz navidad.
oh! just one more thing: we tell each other "te amo" (i love you, in spanish) now @ bedtime (and daytime too). que dulce nina! mi corazon.
