Day off yesterday. Accomplished much: spent entire morning and early afternoon organising barn in preparation for a garage sale- still much to do; organised items brought in from barn; organised back porch (noticing a theme?). From 6-9 spent time at Dad's with K&D, enjoying an adeiu dinner to an uncle who never showed (GB annual meeting addiction).
Curious about title of post?
We are "in process" of adopting a new pet. His birthparents, Kevin and Heather, brought he and his siblings over Saturday evening for Kari's birthday party and our hearts melted, particularly for a gray fuzzy carbon copy of WOLBI- only, he's a male. Later that nite, he came over to meet WOLBI, who hissed venomously, but was otherwise just bitter and avoided us until he left. David is especially concerned that this will be too stressful of a change for her in her old age (17 human years) and will cause a resentful, premature end to her nine lives. I did remind him that she's lived through several of Mama's dogs and no less than six moves, the most recent of which she seems to have adjusted to without any extraordinary truama.
Sunday afternoon we decided on a name: Gandalf the Gray. And in the evening he and his brothers and sisters came to play with REMIX for the evening and he stayed late again, being allowed to inspect the living room, green room and dining room areas while WOLBI sulked in the bedroom. He is litterbox trained, but will need to be front declawed and fixed before he starts marking everything (then I would be having a coronary with WOLBI). Not yet sure when he will be officially home, but probably in a wk or so.
Here is the little darling:

i got a kitten too!! his name is oliver, and he is soooooo cute!! but i don't know how to post pictures...help?
miss/love you!
WOLBI will adjust...with all her fussing over Shadow, I used to find them curled up together under or near the woodburning stove. The home we got her from had a St Bernard she used to cuddle up with.
Just give her extra attention, and maybe separate litter boxes....do cats share litter boxes? Who knows it could make WOLBI more socialable and kitten-like.
Lyndie, I'm glad I didn't miss your garage sale! I thought about it yesterday and realized you'd probably already had one. It will be better than some of the ones I've recently been to - heck, if you have something other than glass bottles and little boxes of nails sitting out, it'll beat at least a couple of them. (no kidding!)
It's a little disturbing thinking of Kevin and Heather as the "birth parents" of a kitten . . . :-p
lauren, there's a little box at the top of the post creating thingy...maybe you should just call and talk to d.
charity: maybe foster parents would be a better description...;)
mama, new post coming.
