February Favorites

Winter happened in February. With 2 feet of snow and several days of level 3 emergency, winter was in full swing. Some moaned.We rejoiced. And ate snow. Drank tea- at home and at China Garden, after trudging through ankle-deep snow dragging Yosi in the sled. Enjoyed company- a visit from "snow bird" (the kind that comes from a sunny place to a snowy place to revel), Mana Nilsen. Drove in the level 3 competently- to pick up Anna and drop off David @ the airport. David flew to sweltering Dominican Republic to spend a week with his father, who became a temporary bachelor while his wife visited the snowy north. I became a temporary single mom and was reminded of the privileges of sharing parenthood with a devoted husband and father.
Yosi with Mana. In new jumper (by Mana) and curls (by Mommy). :)

A swingset can be quite fascinating in the snow. The slide becomes delightfully slippery and 10" of snow makes a pillow landing pad. Swinging is most fun when you fall off into fluffy drifts.

Daddy had this snowbunny eating right out of his hand.
Daddy's little helper: "I can do it by myself!"
This year snow has been the ULTIMATE treat, and nearly every time we step outside Yosi is begging for a fistful, resulting in much repitition of instructions about which is clean and which is dirty snow.
What Mommy was doing while Daddy and Yosi dug in the snow...
Breakfast tea: chocolate hazelnut (caffeine-free) but still a diuretic. Take my advice: do not let your potty-training child drink tea before taking her to the store, unless you are NOT in a hurry and are trying to get excercise by running to the restroom with her 4-5x.Lesson learned: afternoon tea with a plan to stay home near the potty. And, of course, don't forget to rehydrate with plenty of water. ;)
Howdy do, lil' neighbor! How he found his stored sustenance under all that snow is beyond me...

I luv my little Valentine
Hand picked, just for you... ;}
Dangerous beauty.
At last, I have learned to crochet! My first project- a lovely triangle. Whoops! But Mama corrected my mistakes after she returned from VA and now I'm making a lovely scarf.
Giddy-up Grandpa!

As much as we love snow, I think cabin fever is setting in... There's been alot of daydreaming about playing on the playground and swimming in the pool. Hopefully the winds of March will help it blow by quickly.

loved the recap of the month! I did notice that Yosi definitely wanted to eat lots of snow! So, how's the crocheting going?
