this time, however, it was david's idea. (classic eve, pointing finger). our backyard is serendipitously full of glowing things. in the spring, it was daffodils, tulips, lilacs and little daisies. later it evolved to full bodied, fragrant peonies. now, we are gushing over bright bold lilies. david is particularly fond of tiger lilies and is so happy that we have our very own. there is a healthy lavender bush, over which mama will exclaim ecstatically, her favorite scent. and there are many other things which we do not know names for. one plant we did recognize, in a particularly weedy section at the back of the yard, is a villianous enemy: poison ivy. plans have been made to eradicate it, but in the meantime, steer clear!
plans have been made to camp in the backyard this evening, in lieu of traveling to brookville lake and getting stormed on. i'm having second thoughts though. it will be difficult to sleep on a bumpy, hard lawn when my nice, comfly bed is only footsteps away...
here are pics of our bright, graceful friends:

last night, while david revelled in spectating at a mudbogg, molly and i ate pasta salad, gulped down iced tea and set to scrapbooking. it was molly's first effort, and she, like charity, is a natural. she scrapbooked wedding pictures (Dec. 3, 2005) and i scrapbooked d&i's first anniversary (jan. 5, 2003). we worked at a relaxed and feverish pace- this is only possible with this craft, i think. we were still wide-awake, but resigning ourselves to calling it a night, when david arrived home at 12:30 am. it was an energizing return to my much neglected hobby.

i'm getting toothaches from your entries lately (so sweet...) haha, just kidding. i'm enjoying reading about greenville even though i'm not there:)
The photos are gorgeous! You're right though...I am drooling over that lavender plant!
and a night scrapbooking....how fun! Brings back pleasant memories...
The pages look beautiful - and so do the flowers. Rachel & I cut some tall yellow clusters of flowers yesterday from our backyard. I have no idea what they are. Isn't it nice to move into a place where someone much more knowledgable has already done the work of flower-planting? :-)
