sunday we went to kevin's parent's house. they have a big pond. there are diving boards, inner tubes, a rowboat and it's stocked with fish: bluegill and bass. Remixer's met there for an evening of pond adventures, cornhole (an obsessive game involving beanbags, and wooden boards with holes, placed opposite each other about 25 ft apart), doting on farm animals, and eating. I anticipated swimming, David looked forward to fishing. We both indulged our delights to our hearts content. David received the biggest prize. After about 2 1/2 hrs, he'd caught several fish, many of them healthy sized bass. I had just finished swimming and was hanging around, hoping to get a picture to commemorate yet another catch... when he caught the Big Momma of the pond. Ecstasy ensued- shouts of amazement and awe, whooping, running, rounding everyone up to behold the beauty. She was carried to the opposite end of the pond and deposited in a water filled tub, lid over top to keep her in. She weighed in at 7lbs, and measured 22" long: the size of a standard infant! David couldn't've been prouder, and everyone rejoiced with him. Later, we released her back to her watery home with admonitions to produce more of her marvelous kind.
It was a great evening with friends, old and new. Much thanks to Keith and Charlotte for their relaxed hospitality. We journeyed home, full of too much to eat and the bond of love in friendship, strengthened and affirmed. It is good to love people that are not the same as you and yet not so different as you might've thought.

Holy cow!!! or should I say Holy Bass! That baby's big! Esp when I clicked on the picture to enlarge it...WOW! Way to go, david.
I like the baby pig, lyndie. Take that thing home and you could really make both cats nervous!
