i like blogs. i think they're neat... but it's easier just to read everyone else's, and then i run out of time to write my own! how do you do it?
a couple weeks ago, with david and a couple buddies playing Risk in the background, i wrote a lovely bit on the last few books i'd read. i had david proof-read it, then i hit post... it is forever lost somewhere in the dark bowels of cyberspace. bitterness wells-up in my chest even now. david comforted me and encouraged me to rewrite it, but i responded that i believed it was a rebuke of GOD, it was divine providence- telling me to SHUT UP! if you're reading this, i guess He's extended grace for this one.
this evening was a gentle, peaceful one. ana is staying over, on her way home to DR. she'll be with us at church in the morning. early monday i'll take her to the airport. we watched "Elizabethtown" while eating heaping piles of spaghetti and sipping lukewarm coffee. david and i were both pleased to find "Etown" enjoyable, especially since we now own it- given to us as an anniversary gift from mama and papa. we also watched, "WhaleRider", which i recently acquired at a nearby consignment shop for $4. i'd recommend both these movies with a 3/5 for the first, and a 4/5 for the second- meaning: they're both significantly worth your time, IMO. if you've seen either of them, i'd love to hear what you thought.
it's late, and my feet are cold, so it's time to head to bed. goodnite.

If it is the whalerider that I remember watching I don't remember being that impressed but I may not have the correct movie in my head. Great to hear from you. Sure you don't want to start quilting again? I am lovin' it.
so glad you enjoyed it!
THANK YOU for the larger font :)
i liked elizabethtown quite a bit, though i don't understand the need to get at least one f-word into the pg-13 movies now. it was totally unnecessary. i HATE that word.
regi: we greatly admire keisha castle hughes, the main character in "whale rider", and were pleased to see her in "the nativity". i really enjoyed the view into another culture in "whale rider". kch did some remarkable acting for her first movie.
~d: i guess i'm just that desensitized- i don't remember the f-word being used in "Etown", but i'm not surprised if it was. it is a rather annoying word, even more so when used out of context.
~ana~: thanks again for bd presents and all. :)
I haven't seen either movie (but I have seen the Little Mermaid about 56 times!). I can relate to the teeth-grinding frustration of losing something that took hours of time and creative energy. I now hit "save" about every 5 minutes! Unfortunately, you can't really do that while posting. :-(
Are you really reading ALL of those books at once!??
