i think reality is starting to settle in. hitting cold water with a belly-smack often has the same eye-opening effect. we're trying to remember "Rome wasn't won in a day" and take this in baby steps. if the analogy holds true there may be a few unpleasant tumbles. pray that we can take it all in stride. especially pray for the financial aspect- we trust that God can provide, but we're not totally clear on how that will come about.
check out the link to Building Blocks Adoption Services to the right. click on "adoption programs" and then the Guatemalan flag to learn more about adoption from Guate.
also check out the link to adoptive families magazine and adoption.com- where you can learn what an international adoption typically costs (that will help you see why it can be easy to feel intimidated). ;)

oh my - i checked out the international adoption fees. i will most certainly be praying for you!
I was just thinking that even though the cost is definitely intimidating, the fact that it often takes over a year for the adoption goes through at least provides a chance to prepare mentally for your lives to change irrevocably. :-) Although I'm sure the next year will pretty much seem like a whirlwind of paperwork and check-writing!!
ok, so i saw how much it was, and i'm thinking that surely there must be a good, decent black market where you two can become parents without cutting groceries, heat, electricity and netflix out of the budget. i mean, maybe the mafia has some sort of alternative to this "agency"...i'll be keeping my eyes open for less legitimate, more inexpensive ways for you two to fulfill this plan.
working for you, i remain your's truly,

You know I am praying for you. I pray things go well for you and your new family. I am praying that God will provide for you and your husband.
