so, after arriving home and expending my remaining energy washing dishes, and making dinner (beef stew and nestle toll house cookie bars), cleaning up after the cats a bit and washing a few more dishes, i was READY for a break.
browsing around online regarding one of my favorite topics of the moment: guatemala adoption, i found what appeared to be an amusing link, describing "funny language goofs I came across a few years ago by some missionaries to Guatemala. These are priceless and give you a little insight to things you might not know about Guatemala and/or Spanish." (http://www.guatadopt.com/archives/cat_guatemalan_history_and_holidays.html).
Here's a direct link to the web page described: http://www.dannemiller.net/mission_language.html.
this web-page is so funny, that if you don't laugh, well, you must be clinically depressed! i know a couple of readers in particular that shall receive great amusement from this: a) my HS spanish teacher and b) my m-i-l.
oh! also, here is david with his newly built bookshelf:

WOW! tha bookcase is "muy grande"m but I know you have the books to fill those shelves too. He did a great job designing and constructing. is that the barn wood?
I read the Spanish page to Papa this morning. oh my! What a fun way to start the day! I think I'm glad that I don't know what mistakes I've made. Maybe ignorance truly is bliss!
those WERE funny. i've made the "embarazada" mistake before (when i was in Spain 27 years ago). i was on a date at the time....
remember when we were in guatemala and rachael asked the clerk in the store "como mucho?" when she took her food up to pay? and she couldn't figure out why the clerk gave her such a strange look? she wanted to ask "how much" and instead asked, "do i eat a lot?"
Those were funny!
interesting new look Lyndie. When I clicked on it yesterday there was a picture in the left hand corner of a red maple leaf and looked like David in the background. What happened to it? It was cool.
By the way, I was finally able to post on my blog! YEAH!
Love the new look...so Fall-ish!
By the way, when I tried to go from your blog to mine by clicking your link, my blog comes up empty. But if I go to it from any where else, my blog is there. Does that make sense?
