no place like home

from saturday:
ah, it's been a charming saturday with nothing to do, except whatever our homely hearts desire: reading in our pajamas, a bit of housework, listening to music, just lounging around... this type of thing is such a rare delight, we like to savor every minute to its fullest.
here are a few pictures of places that we'll be spending much of the remainder of our lazy day, enchanted with the "newness" of them.
david will browse the bookshelfs and or set his fingers to typing out his secret story here in the "new" study, where the books are topically and alphabetically shelved in their neat rows.

if i'm not in the kitchen, making pumpkin soup, perhaps i shall be here, in my cozy scrap-corner, attempting to begin making yosi's scrapbook, or just diddling around with a card, or maybe sewing. i've had so much coffee this morning, i'll probably be awake until a very late hour, immersed in some such project.

these are days we expect to look back on a bit wistfully and smile, bemused, at "life before children", but our thoughts will not be regretful, only reminiscint. there is a time for everything under the sun. peter pan is flits off gracefully amongst the stars. we will only glimpse him again, and he will sneer and we will grin.

Love the new look to your blog! WOW!
The rooms look wonderful too! The new study is great. Those bookcases...did David make all of them? They look great. And Grandpa's desk is still being used. Did you know my mom bought that for my dad the very first Christmas after they were married. That would make it 67 years old!

Your crafting area looks delightful! Like the blinds on the window too.
That was quite an undertaking moving all that around, esp books from upstairs. Who needs a stair-stepper for exercise?
So glad you had a relaxing day to enjoy together.

I made pumpkin soup once and that was it. I just didn't like it very well.
